Top 3 Questions to Ask Your
Colorado Springs Chiropractor
1. Do You Accept My Insurance?
As a Colorado Springs Chiropractor, my staff gets asked this question daily.
The simple answer is: Yes.
The longer answer is, "Yes, we accept your insurance, but we don't know yet if they accept us."
Insurance is a mess. Whether you are in-network or out-of-network, it doesn't matter. We must call patients' insurance company to determine their benefits to know exactly what they will or will not cover. And even then, the insurance companies have loop holes.
Some companies' out-of-network benefits are just as good or better than their in-network benefits. And two people may have the same company, but different plans, and therefore different benefits. And some companies say that they will cover a certain amount, but in actuality, they do not.
No matter your coverage, we can work with you to come up with a payment that works for you and us. Just bring your card in on your first visit.
2. Do you run a "high volume" clinic?
I got my "feet wet" in my profession working for a high-volume Colorado Springs chiropractor. The good part is that it honed my skills because I saw so many people. The bad part is that it is impossible to offer high-quality health care when you are seeing someone for 3-5 minutes.
That is why I've chosen not run a "high-volume" chiropractic clinic. What the doctor and patient gain in efficiency, they lose in quality. We work very hard to keep a good balance - to not keep you longer than necessary, and to not miss something because we are speeding along.
3. What is your chiropractic philosophy?
Each Colorado Springs Chiropractor is one of a kind. Your job is to find one that meshes with your health care philosophy.
So, test us. Make it a grueling test. This is your body we are talking about.
While I'm a huge believer in the spinal adjustment (what I like to call an "alignment"), I do not believe it is the "end-all," for back pain or health. I've had patients come in with "tight" back, caused by a mineral deficiency. One inexpensive bottle of magnesium took away the pain. The deficiency was causing muscle spasms.
Health is balance, and that includes nutrition, structural balance, and a healthy mind. The brain-body connection is a huge component, but it is not everything.
That's why I take my patients "beyond the back." In my patients words, this improves their quality of care.

"I Thought Chiropractic Was Looney Toons" Says Local Medical Professional

Chris S. is a Colorado Springs nurse practitioner. Her husband is a medical doctor, radiologist. Life with their great jobs and wonderful children was idyllic, until one painful and sad day.
Chris takes a spill down their wooden stairs that changes her life, and mind, forever. She fractures her spine and despite bed rest and tons of prescription drugs, the pain is agonizing.
"I've had two children" says Chris. "And [despite all the medication] this pain was worse."
Chris was afraid that she would never be able to hold her two children again, or bend over to clean up the house or pick up toys or garden.
Thankfully, Chris had friends. Those friends met together at a local church for a monthly Mom's and Beyond class each month. Colorado Springs Chiropractor, Dr. Molly Kallenbach (DC) happened to be a mom in the group, but as Chris says, she "thought Chiropractic was looney tunes." The only reason Chris turned to Dr. Kallenbach was because she was in so much pain and prescription drugs were not working.
That's okay. Ninety-percent of Dr. Kallenbach's patients come to her in pain, and because pharmaceutical direct-to-consumer advertising (which is not allowed in any other country but the US) is so prevalent, it is common that patients are on many prescription drugs.
Dr. Kallenbach went to Chris' home to work on her, because she could not travel. "She used the Activator [a small instrument used in aligning the spine], and I could feel all my muscles just relax, for the first time."
Dr. Kallenbach continued to treat Chris at her home, and Chris became well. Now she can pick up her kids, take kickboxing classes, and care for her family. It's not every day that Dr. Kallenbach gets to care for a patient in Chris' condition. If it worked for Chris, it can likely work for you.
But first things first: Call today for New Patient Exam (includes you first treatment, X-rays, exam and Doctor's report of findings) for $99. Or if you'd like to meet Dr. Kallenbach first and check out the office, call for a free consultation.
